Classes
No racecars or converted ex-racecars that compete or have competed consecutively in any form of national/regional or clubman's racing series. This includes Superhatch, Thunder Cars, Porsche Challenge, Silver Cup and Lotus Register series. Street legal vehicles only.
Super Class will be any car with a forced induction system.
GT Class is any 6/8 cylinder normal aspirated motors
AWD Class is 4-wheel drive cars (both NA & FI)
N Class Any 4 cylinder naturally aspirated car
2.6km Track Run
Five cars will be let out at the same time on the track with sufficient gaps. They will be grouped such that they do not catch up with each other, in other words each driver will run in a group of similarly fast vehicles. There will be one timed hotlap which counts towards the final score. If for any reason a car leaves the circuit you will not be able to restart.
If you are unable to restart due to minor problems you will receive a time of 1:40. If a vehicle's time is not recorded the driver will be given a second chance. The second run will be allocated close to the end of the session.
Vehicles will be allowed to be repaired during sessions in allocated areas only, and will be allowed to compete as long as they are fixed within the session's time slot (i.e. no late runs).
No vehicle is permitted to change tyres at any point of the competition on associated tracks (same tyres start of event till the end). In case of a tyre being damaged during competition the competitor may be allowed to replace with another tyre of the same grade.
Gymkhana
If for any reason a track/coarse cone is knocked over, a competitor will be penalised with a 2 (two) second penalty per cone. If the cone just moves but does not fall over, the driver will not be penalised.
A driver taking an incorrect route through the course will be penalised by adding 10 (ten) seconds to his run.
If a driver misses a run for a technical reason, a time of 1.38 will be assigned.
Rally Stage
The same rules apply as for the Gymkhana challenge. If a driver misses a run for a technical reason, a time of 1:05 will be assigned.
Super Stage
The same rules apply as for the Gymkhana challenge. If a driver misses a run for a technical reason, a time of 1:43 will be assigned.
800m Top End Run
Cars will run from a transponder point on the Oval, where a time will
commence till a point on the straight at around 800 meters to another transponder point, past the white house at the same time a speed will be taken over the traps.
¼ Mile
If you stall on the line or get a red light, you will not be allowed a re-run - you will be assigned a default time of 17.0s for that particular run.
General Rules
Vehicles must have a valid road license.
Cars will be weighed and a minimum weight restriction imposed at 80% of the weight specified on the license disc, including the driver. In other words, the car's wet weight plus driver cannot be less than 20% lighter than the specified mass on the vehicle's license disc. (We'll have some cement bags at hand for those underweight...)
Slowest Time for the track session will be decided on the day after first track sessions. If a contestatant does not make it on their run or has a breakdown.
Cars must be driven to all destinations and canot be trailered. Any breakdown on route to a venue has a 7 min time frame for repairs, if sweeper vehicle waits longer than 7 mins a 20 sec Penalty will be enforced.
All participants to obey road speed limits while in convoy.
All car must have a handbrake.
Hoosier tyres will be allowed.
All Stripped out cars to carry some form of interior mats.
Penalty for wrong route taken on a course: 10 seconds will be added to the run time. Penalty for a knocked cone: 2 seconds will be added to the run time.
The overall winner will be dedided based on all the sections in the Challenge. In order to arrive at a time, all the individual sections' times will be averaged per course and then added up. For example every competitor's Track runs will be averaged, then this average will be added to a "overall time" for that individual. The overall winner will be decided on the best overall time.
No warming up of tyres or brakes before before any event. Burn-outs will only be allowed for ¼ mile drags in the spirit of the discipline. This rule is due to complaints from competitors in previous events, as we want to give an equal chance to everyone. Furthermore, no jumping of the queue is allowed. This will be strictly enforced! (This doesn't apply to Sav, ha-ha!)
Only one driver per car, the same driver may not run enter than one car in the event.
If you get a time slower than the fixed cut-off time at any stage, you will receive the fixed cut-off time for that particular section of the Challenge.
Cars must have factory glass or plastic windows as standard on the particular model. All cars also need to carry fire extinguishers.
All cars also need to carry fire extinguishers.
All drivers in open top cars MUST wear gloves.
Rules set up by the organising committee remain, any disputes must be sent in writing no later than 7 days after the event.
